Following a great 2010-2011 season, West Chester Lightning Girls Basketball League is now accepting registration for its 15th season. The Lightning season will run from November through February and will be open for all girls’ grades 1 through 7. Games will be played at the local High Schools and practices will be at various West Chester School District schools. In addition to ensuring that everyone develops and enhances their basketball skills through dedicated practice times and games, we also provide clinics hosted by local college players and an opportunity to see the Villanova Women’s team in action.
Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please do not delay. The non-refundable registration fee will be $90 per child. The 1st & 2nd Grade Clinic will be $75 per child, and is a great way to introduce the younger girls to the basic skills and principles of basketball. Please make sure to send in your registration form (see below) along with your payment to guarantee your daughter a spot on the team. In order for us to ensure enough teams and an opportunity for all of the girls who wish to participate, we must rely on the help and participation from parents and volunteers. Please indicate if you are willing to volunteer as a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Grade Commissioner.
Registration forms are due by October.
Please make checks payable to “West Chester Lightning League” and send
to P.O. Box 1016, Westtown, PA 19395-1016. If there are any questions
or concerns, please e-mail Colleen at wclightning2007@yahoo.com.
Evaluations will be held November 5th and 6th, 2011 for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade players to assess their skill level and help in the team formation process. The season will begin on Saturday, December 3rd and continue until February 19th. Practices will begin in November 12th following the evaluation day and Coaches meeting. Please be sure to check your e-mail for any notifications or updates all season long.
