West Chester Girls Lightning is excited to offer an opportunity for your daughter(s) to learn the fundamentals and skills of basketball in a fun environment. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity, send in your registration form for the 2009-2010 Season today!
The West Chester Lightning Girls Basketball League is now accepting registration for its 13th season. We had a great 12th year with over 300 girls participating. The Lightning season will run from November through February and will be open for all girls’ grades 2 through 8. Games will be played at the local High Schools and practices will be at various West Chester School District schools. Similar to last year, we will make sure everyone has fun with plenty of practice times, games, and clinics.
Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please do not delay. The non-refundable registration fee will be $80 per child and $70 for each additional child. The 1st and 2nd Grades Clinic will be $65 per child. Please make sure to send in your registration form (see below) along with your payment to guarantee your daughter a spot on the team. In order for us to ensure enough teams and an opportunity for all of the girls who wish to participate, we must rely on the help and participation from parents and volunteers. Please indicate if you are willing to volunteer as a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Grade Commissioner.

Evaluations will be held to assess the skill level of each player and to help in the team formation process. Evaluation day is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 15th beginning at Noon at Henderson. Draft night for coaches will be held on Nov. 17th.
Please be sure to check your e-mail for any notifications or updates all season long. E-mail will serve as the main communication tool this season.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The levels are split into three groups - a 3rd grade division, a 4th and 5th grade division, and a 6-7-8th grade division. The season runs from December 5th 2009 through February 20th 2010 with games held on Saturdays or Sundays and one practice during the week. The 1st and 2nd grade leagues are set up "clinic-style" and will start on November 14th. All practices are held in the West Chester area schools.
An evaluation day for grades 3 through 5 will be held on November 17th, 2009. The goal of the evaluation session is to help us get an even distribution of teams. A letter will be sent to you with specific details following registration sign-up.
Because we are reaching out to additional schools, registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. The non-refundable registration fee will be $80 for the 1st child and $70 for each additional sibling. The 1st and 2nd grade Clinic will be $65/child. Please be sure to send in the registration form along with your payment.

As a confirmation, the League will send out an email indicating your registration has been completed. A follow-up letter will be mailed indicating the date for evaluation day. Following this, you will then receive an email or phone call from your coach. Practices will begin the last week of November and games will start the first weekend of December.
